16/17 november 2010, noon till noon, Brigitte Mulders
rebuilds her Ghanaian, nomadic home in Rc de Ruimte Amsterdam.
At the same time the book ‘Home, place and identity’ is presented.
This book is the result of Mulders’ project in Ghana, in 2009.
On the university campus in Kumasi she opened a portrait shop.
Painted portraits were offered to the sitters as a gift, in exchange for inviting Mulders to their home, telling her a bit about daily life and social background, and giving her the opportunity to make a scetch of this ‘home’.
In the book the portraits, the interiors and the gathered information on the participants are brought together. The original works represented in the book will also be shown.
You are welcome to visit this presentation on
tuesday November 16th from 19 o’clock till midnight.
Ghanaian snacks and drinks will be served, you can enjoy some ghanaian soap-series, and we are hoping for a live chat-connection with some of my Kumasi-models.
This presentation is part of the PUSH project, organized by Rc de Ruimte Amsterdam.
From October 29 till December 7, every 24 hours another artist is showing his work.
